Jeremy Corbyn seeks shadow cabinet agreement on Syria airstrikes

Labour leader asks shadow ministers to consult constituency parties and come to collective view on aerial assaultJeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader, has told his shadow cabinet that he wants it to come to a collective view about whether to support British airstrikes in Syria, but it is understood that he remains opposed to such action. The aim of the airstrikes would be to dislodge Islamic State from its stronghold in Raqqa and so eradicate their training grounds.
